Canva is currently one of the most popular designing websites in the world. For someone who doesn't know about Canva, I will give a little introduction.
Canva was launched in 2012 by Australian technology entrepreneur Melanie Perkins in association with Cameron Adams and Cliff Obrecht. She is the CEO and co-founder of Canva.
You do not need any basic design knowledge to work here. All you need is knowledge of how to use a website.
It is very easy to register here. You can register for this using your social media account. This is a very popular website among designers because designs can be made and downloaded for free. A variety of designs can be made here for free and this is so easy to use. Here are some examples of designs that can be made here for free.
- Logo designs
- Game designs
- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest post
- Youtube thumbnail
- Video (TikTok, youtube, etc)
Until now, although it was easy to create designs in Canva, there was no way to easily upload designs for Mockups. But now Canva has been updated for the convenience of customers. Yes! Canva now has free mockups too. That is, the designs we create here can be directly applied for free mockups here.
In Canva now mockups are divided into 5 main categories.
- Technology (smartphones, desktops, laptops, tablets, watches, tv & screens, e-readers)
- print (books, brochures & sheets, frames, posters, outdoors, iPhone cases, stickers)
- Packaging (cosmetics, beverages, supplements)
- Apparel (sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, sportswear, toddlers, face masks, accessories)
- Home & living (mugs, pillows, candles, other)
Now let's learn how to apply our designs here.
- First, select a mockup you want according to the above category.
- Press the select button corresponding to the mockup you have selected.
- Decide whether you will use an uploaded design for the mockup or choose a design you created in Canva.
- Select the design and press the adjust image button.
- Adjust the design as you want.
(under image sizing (flip, fit, stretch, custom), alignment, and flip)
- Then press the save and save mockup buttons respectively.
- If you need to use this to create another design, press "use in a design" or if you want to download, press the "download" button.
Let's learn this process using images. (Demo)
Cons for Canva Free users
There is one disadvantage for free users of Canva. Let's imagine your design as one with a white background. If the design is applied directly to the mockup, a thin black line can be seen around the design.
This happens because the white color and the background color of the mockups are different. Only those using a free account should apply designs for these free mockups after removing the background of your designs. Then the black line around that circle will not be visible. Therefore, another method should be used only to remove the background.
Pros for Canva Pro users
Canva pro users can remove the background of the designs in Canva, so you don't have to put in much effort for this. This is a great opportunity as Pro users get access to all mockups.
Final words
Now it is confirmed that everyone, whether Free or Pro, does not need another website to publicize the designs they have made among their social media followers.
If you have not yet registered on this valuable website, become a Free or Pro user today.
